Ohio University SWE
Ohio University Society of Women Engineers conducts several activities throughout the academic school year that inspire young minds to pursue a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Math. We also provide career guidance and personal support to several women and men engineering students of Ohio University Russ College of Engineering.
We hope to see individuals who desire a STEM career grow as a leader, give back to the community, and achieve their STEM career goals.
Some of the activities conducted yearly include Daisy Scouts Day and Girl Scouts Day which we allow young women to conduct a variety of STEM experiments and projects. We hold a yearly Women in
Engineering panel which is live broadcasted online; a few female engineering students and professors provide their view on what its like to be a woman in engineering. As a group, we hold a fun event each semester so members may get to know each other. Some of these events include 5k runs, volleyball, Athens Beautification Day, attending a play, and a variety of activities across Ohio University campus.
